TCHS sweeps Northside on the road

WARNER ROBINS — Tift County’s Blue Devils and Lady Devils invaded Northside of Warner Robins Friday, Feb. 3, and returned with two more basketball victories.
The Lady Devils won their 17th of the season, annihilating Northside, 55-16. It was the 16th win of the 2022-23 campaign for the Devils, who defeated the Eagles by a 55-47 count.

Davis Byrnes scored a career high 18 for the Blue Devils and Christian Jones added 10 as their big men feasted against Northside. McKyler Horne contributed 9 points.
Tift had a nine-point, 42-33, advantage going into the 4th quarter. The Eagles ultimately only made up only one in the deficit, but had further chances.
Northside connection on a single field goal in the last eight minutes, but shot 21 free throws, making 11 of them. Horne fouled out and three Blue Devils finished the contest with four fouls.
Jimmya Cushion outscored another opponent entirely at Northside, netting 21 points to the Lady Eagles’ 16. Jimeylah Cushion scored 11 and Faith Hillmon contributed 8.
Tift was ahead 22-3 after a quarter, 38-3 at the half. Northside scored 9 points in the 4th frame.
