TIFTON — Recent funding from the Georgia Council for the Arts could bring some extra creativity to town.

At the conclusion of the recent Tifton City Council meeting, City Manager Emily Beeman congratulated Councilman M. Jay Hall and Abby McLaren, downtown development director, for securing an $8,000 grant from the Council for the Arts for an artistic project.

Beeman said Hall and McLaren attended the recent More than Murals seminar in Thomasville, a workshop to educate municipalities on collaborating with local artists to enhance their community and received a grant for participating.

Hall thanked the city for giving him the chance to attend the event and expressed excitement over how the grant could be used.
