- Representatives of Guatemala were hard at work serving their dishes to the guests at a previous food festival.
TIFTON — Residents of Tifton will be able to sample tastes from around the world once more when the International Food Festival returns to Our Divine Savior Church.
The Catholic church will host its annual food fest April 29, with church officials saying they are eager to provide Tifton residents with another night of diverse food and community spirit.
A tradition now on its eighth run, the church was first inspired to begin the event by a similar festival being held at a neighboring parish, and from there it has grown in popularity with each successive showing, church officials said.
“We’re getting nice support from the community,” said Priscilla Carpenter, a parishioner for the church. “It seems like they’re looking forward to it every year.”
Like previous years, the church’s parishioners and members will prepare the dishes from their own cultures and heritages, assembling a full course of food from more than 20 countries for guests to sample and savor.
Attendees can either elect to pay 50 cents for every bite of the various dishes they take or purchase the church’s “Round the World” pass for $25 to eat as much as they like.
A 50/50 cash drawing is slated to be held and kids’ entertainment will also be provided in the form of bounce houses.
The International Food Festival will be held 6-9 p.m., April 29, at Our Divine Savior Catholic Church. All proceeds will go back to the church.
