ABAC’s Pascual named baseball All-Region

DEMOREST — The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association has announced its All-Region baseball teams for 2023. Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College earned one first team pick, three second team, as well as a Gold Glove.

The Gold Glove award went to pitcher Jeb Johnson. A sophomore pitcher from Moultrie, fielded his position perfectly this season. Team stats show Johnson handled all 11 chances, with three putouts, and eight assists.

Jorge Pascual was the lone Stallion to make first team. A redshirt sophomore from Cedar Shoals, Pascual mans first base. Pascual led ABAC with 12 homers during the regular season, driving 53 runs (tied for team lead) while scoring 57 runs. His slugging percentage of .635 was also tops on the squad and he also swiped two bags.

Second team selections are Jack Witmer, Beau Brand and Johnson.

Witmer’s .354 average was a team-high for the Stallions during the regular season and he drove in 47 runs. Brand hit .348 and was the team’s hits leader at 63.

Johnson won 10 games for ABAC and fanned 89 in 78.1 innings pitched. He pitched three of the team’s four complete games.
