TIFTON — School will be back in session for Tift County Friday, Sept. 1.

The system announced on social media Thursday afternoon the resumption of classes after Hurricane Idalia.

“According to EMA and power companies, power has been restored to the majority of the residents of Tift County,” said Tift County Schools. “All Tift County schools will resume normal operations on Friday, Sept. 1st. Excuses for students who are unable to attend due to storm damage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.”

Tift missed Wednesday and Thursday because of the hurricane.
