TIFTON — Dazzling lights and the sounds of carnival fun dotted the American Legion Fairgrounds as the Coastal Plains Fair came back to Tifton this week.

The annual carnival event, now in its 87th year, opened its gates Nov. 7 for the local community to enjoy.

Rides and attractions of all kinds filled the fairgrounds, including classic carnival games for big prizes and exhilarating rides on roller coasters, Ferris wheels, and carousels.

Patrons were also given the chance to partake in a petting zoo, see the spectacles at the Dominguez Family Circus, or enjoy some signature fair food or snacks from local vendors.
