AROUND THE RINK: Kids and adults alike have been enjoying the pop-up ice rink, located next to Synovus Bank.

TIFTON — The weather might be too warm for snow, but locals can still get a taste of winter wonderland in the week leading up to Hometown Holidays.

Residents of Tifton can skate and slide across the city’s very own pop-up ice skating rink now through Dec. 2.

Located at the corner of 4th and Love next to Synovus Bank, the attraction is sponsored by Briggs Equipment Company, and aims to serve as the opening act to the city’s upcoming Christmas celebration Hometown Holidays, as reported by Rosalie Reeder of the Tifton-Tift County Tourism Association.

For just $10, patrons can slip on a pair of ice skates and glide with their friends and family as they try out the unique experience to Tifton. It won’t be ice under their feet on account of the almost-inevitable high temperatures, but the experience of skating across the rink will remain just the same.

The rink will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 27 through 30, 4 to 10 p.m. Dec. 1, and 6 to 10 p.m. Dec. 2. Patrons are free to skate as long as they want on every day except Dec. 2. where timeslots will be implemented.
