Disturbed by the antisemitism in America

Dear Editor:

I don’t know about you but I’ve been a little taken aback by the amount of antisemitism in America and, to a lesser degree, Europe following the atrocities committed against the Jewish people on October 7th. As a student of history, I well understand the origins and continued existence of the ancient bigotry but I never had any clue that it was as prevalent as it is until recently. I get the feeling that not too many did. What is equally surprising to me is the amount of willful ignorance about the history of the conflict and the region at large. A prime example of that is that many people, primarily on the left, are calling for a ceasefire and a two-state solution. To say that they are either ill-informed or rooting against Israel is an understatement. I mean, think about that for a second. A ceasefire only after the terrorist who mercilessly slaughtered, tortured, raped, and kidnapped innocent civilians including infants for no reason whatsoever start getting their butts handed to them? Not to mention the fact that Palestinian militants have been firing thousands of rockets into Israel at random for decades now. Glad to see the “peacemakers” finally decided to show up. Even if they are a little late. So this whole “free Palestine” propaganda is just too rich. The only thing richer is the notion that the terrorists are somehow humanitarians for releasing the very hostages that they kidnapped instead of simply using them as bartering chips to get the “humanitarian aid” they need for themselves and buy their self time. So spare me the Palestinian pity party. They’ve had more than their share of chances to reconcile and this time they took it way too far. And as far as the old dusty two-state solution goes. That, and even a three-state solution at one point, has been repeatedly attempted since 1947 and the Palestinian leadership and most of the Arab population has rejected it every single time. And they always will because they don’t feel Israel should exist. It’s just that simple. A poll taken recently proves that. The results were that 87% of Palestinians actually supported Hamas’ October 7th massacre. So I do not understand the continual emphatic distinction between Hamas and the Palestinians. We would not give that benefit to any other group past or present knowing their gleeful complicity in these kinds of atrocities. It’s really hard to sugarcoat that nearly nine out of ten of them are good with that level of evil. And Therein lies the real reason that Egypt and other Arab countries refused to take refugees from Gaza. But I digress. Here in America, it is perhaps ironic but just as obvious that most of the anti-Semitic idiocy is coming out of our universities. I wonder how much the left’s obsession with skin color and its perceived correlation to oppressed vs. oppressor has corrupted the thinking of many on this issue. Or how much of this is the result of the far left’s disdain for Christianity and by extension, Judaism? I for one believe it’s a combination of both along with the complete failure of the multiculturalist experiment in general that has created this sort of intellectual devolution. All of which has now been exacerbated by the unbelievably incompetent Biden Administration’s domestic (DEI) agenda where group identity is everything coupled with the foreign policy of appeasing the mullahs in Iran. Who of course are the puppeteers and moneymen for all of this mayhem. They only understand strength and this administration has none. And so it is, the war will rage on. The Israelis will do what is necessary to protect themselves. They can’t be neighbors with people who believe they shouldn’t exist or with those who sympathize with that sentiment. The Biden Administration will continue to not confront the Ayatollah in any meaningful way to solve this problem because they never solve any problem. And unfortunately, anti-semitism will continue to evolve and be a problem in the 21st century. It’s so sad that even with all of our advances in technology, and science, and our increased understanding of the human condition and all of our similarities we are really still right where we have always been. I guess the more things change the more they stay the same.
