ALBANY — Tift County’s Swim Devils made it look easy Jan. 6, sweeping the Lee County High School Invitational.

Tift combined for 1,015 points at the meet, 585 for the Lady Devils and 430 for the Blue Devils. The boys finished 74.5 points ahead of Camden County in a solid victory, with the girls winning in a runaway. The Lady Devils’ next closest opponent was Colquitt County at 246, with Camden County third at 228.

Out of 22 events, Tift won six of them. Amazingly, no male swimmers from Tift County won any events, but used their large roster to soak up points in other places. The Lady Devils won six times.

Brianna Domagala, Ava Wilson, Anna Lupo and Brynna Burke won the 200 medley relay in 2:00 and the 400 freestyle relay in 4:07. The latter event saw them win by 30 seconds.

Wilson picked up an individual win in the 200 individual medley, with her time of 2:31 15 seconds ahead of second place. Domagala won the 50-yard freestyle in 26.56 seconds, impressively nearly a full second ahead of the runner-up.

Lupo became the third member of that relay team to win an individual event, doing so in the 100 butterfly in 1:00. Burke made it all winners on the relay squad with a 5:36 time to win the 500 freestyle.
