TIFTON — Students studying at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College’s J.G. Woodroof Farm and ABAC arena and stables were recently presented the use of a brand new 2023 Massey Ferguson 4700 series tractor by Atlantic and Southern Equipment, LLC.

Students will have the use of the tractor for an entire year, thanks to Brady Mercer and Wesley Stephens, Sales Representatives with Atlantic and Southern.

“Atlantic & Southern Equipment, along with Massey Ferguson, is excited to partner with Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with the donation of a new Massey Ferguson 4700 series tractor,” said Stephens. “We support ABAC’s efforts as they strive to cultivate the next generation of agricultural leaders.”

Atlantic and Southern Equipment, LLC is an AGCO dealer and has been in business since 2001. The company has been named an AGCO Top 25 dealer and it provides service to Georgia, Alabama, and North Carolina. The company provides a variety of equipment from several manufacturers such as Massey Ferguson, Fendt, Bush Hog, and many others.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to use the tractor for the stables and teaching,” said Dr. Katheryn Cerny, an Associate Professor in ABAC’s School of Agriculture and Natural Resources. “Our students are going to be able to learn how to use the equipment to drag and maintain the arena as well as help with erosion control in and around the stables area.”

ABAC Advancement Officer Victoria Whiddon said the donation was made through the ABAC Foundation.

“The equipment provided by our partners in the community allows our students to have hands-on learning experiences to prepare them to enter the workforce upon graduation,” Whiddon said.
