TIFTON — Thomas County Central won varsity soccer games from Tift County High Tuesday night, though the Lady Devils accomplished something few teams have this season.
Yareli Espinoza netted a 2nd half goal against TCC, making Tift only the second team to score this season against the Lady Jackets. Only Colquitt County had any goals against them, all the way back on Feb. 6.

Tift’s Blue Devils saw their bad luck continue in dropping a 3-2 match to the visitors.
The Devils staked a 2-0 lead in the 1st half, only to see Thomas County Central score a split-second before the halftime buzzer. The Jackets added two 2nd half goals for the victory.
Eric Palomares scored Tift’s first goal nine minutes into the night. With three minutes left in the half, Jordan Lopez was fouled, resulting in a penalty kick. Lopez drilled the shot into the lower left corner of the net.
Tift has more home games this week, hosting Veterans on Friday evening.
