TIFTON — The weather forecast refused to improve and Saturday’s Tift County’Anthony Bateman Invitational track and field meet was canceled.

Citing the weather and high winds, head coach J.C. Clark made the official announcement Friday afternoon.

There were thunderstorms in Tifton Saturday morning. Tift was scheduled to participate in a quad meet at Lowndes on March 13 and have registered to compete at West Laurens High’s Friday Night Lights March 15.

TCHS will host quad meets March 20 and April 10.
