Tiftarea’s Marcus, Olson, Walker second at district track

- Jasmin Olson earns 2nd place in the triple jump at the district track meet in 2024.
ALBANY — Tiftarea Academy earned three second places at district, which took place April 10 at Hugh Mills Stadium, hosted by Deerfield-Windsor.
The second places were one on the track and two in field events.

Jasmin Olson was second in the triple jump, clearing 31 feet, according to official results. Temond Marcus had the other runner-up, throwing 40-2 in shot put.
J.R. Walker also turned in a second place, a time of 52.9 seconds in the 400 meters. Walker was three-hundredths of a second off taking the gold as Valwood’s Tayt Snellgrove ran in 52.87 seconds.
Deerfield-Windsor swept the district trophies. State track will take place April 25-27 at Mack Strong Stadium in Columbus.
