TIFTON — Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College’s Fillies close out the regular season Saturday with a doubleheader against East Georgia State.

Action begins at 2 p.m.

The Fillies still have a shot at landing a higher seed seed in the upcoming GCAA conference tournament, though they will need a little luck, and some upsets.

ABAC is No. 3 currently at 15-7. Ahead of the Fillies are Georgia Military College at 17-5 and Gordon State at 15-5. GMC has a doubleheader with East Georgia remaining. The Highlanders have both Andrew College and Georgia Highlands to go.

Saturday’s games will be the last regular season games for softball in the NJCAA. They’ll move to the NAIA this summer.

Carter Gore and Laney McGee have been topping the GCAA this year. Through 40 games, the two were 1-2 in the conference in average and RBIs. Gore had a .430 average, driving in 40 runs. McGee sat at .425 and 34 RBIs.

Ashley Archibald is among the best in home runs hit. Jaci Smiley and Kaylee Barrett give the Fillies a very solid 1-2 combination in the circle.
