TIFTON — Tift County tennis players earned plenty of plenty of recognition with the Region 1-6A awards.

Player of the Year went to Maitrey Patel as the Blue Devils boys won the region championship. Four more players made first team: Joshua Hellman, Elijah Hellman, Matthew Layfield, Tyson Lasseter, Ross Peters and Seth Denham. Layfield and Lasseter are a doubles combination, as are Peters and Denham.

Anna Lupo and Abby Lupo made first team for the Lady Devils, as did the doubles combination of Madison Garner and Kenyaria Morrow.

Riley Griffin earned second team.

In addition, Tift had the region coaches of the year. Led by Ivey Vickers, the staff is Teresa Walker and Hunter Gaskins.
