TIFTON — Middle Georgia Hispanic-focused news service Notivision has announced plans to expand into Tift County.
During the May 13 county board of commissioners meeting, Notivision chief operating officer Jay Cruz expressed his hope of promoting a bilingual newspaper to residents in the county.

Though initially only covering local events in Middle Georgia communities like Warner Robins and Macon, Cruz developed an interest in expanding to the southern part of the state after noticing that the news service had received numerous viewers and readers from Valdosta when they worked on covering a hurricane affecting the area.
He requested the support of the county commissioners, as well as other local organizations, in order to spread the word about the paper.
Cruz reported that the newspaper would be entirely free to the community, and that Notivision had already released the first edition in May and expected to release the next in June.
