TIFTON — Residents of Tifton can expect to see a blast from the past when Rock the Block returns to the city next weekend.

The yearly celebration of summer and all things Tifton will take place July 13, inviting the community out for an evening of fun right outside their doorstep.

Alongside a variety of food trucks and vendors, including 3 Beards BBQ, Dairy King, and Rocco’s Italian Street Food, and live music from performers like Emerald Empire Band and Music By SCOUT, this year’s run of the event will sport a theme throwing it back to the era of the ‘90s.

Patrons are encouraged to dress up in ‘90s attire, and the celebration will include ‘90s-themed attractions including a photo booth and a boom box bounce house. Emerald Empire Band is also expected to play a setlist of iconic ‘90s tunes.

“We just really want people to come into Downtown Tifton and celebrate being in Tifton, give them something to do and help them enjoy being right here,” said Angela Elder of Think Tifton, the organizers of the event. “You don’t always have to go off to have a good time, you can do it right here.”
