State recognition for Tift County educators

Jennifer Johnson, Tift County High School principal, celebrates her recognition as the recipient of the Jim Puckett Outstanding Educator Award alongside Jonathan Jones, school board chair, and Natalie Gore, superintendent.

TIFTON – The Tift County Schools Board of Education recognized a pair of faculty members for achieving excellence at state level during their most recent meeting.

Near the beginning of their Aug. 8 meeting, board members invited CTAE director Dr. Donald Gilman and Tift County High School principal Jennifer Johnson to be recognized for their recent achievements in their respective fields.

Gilman had been awarded the Administer of the Year Award for Special Populations by the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education for his dedication to the student body and ensuring they continued to succeed.

Johnson was congratulated for receiving the Jim Puckett Outstanding Educator Award from the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals, honoring her work as a teacher and principal within the school system.

Both faculty members were presented a certificate of excellence and hearty praise from board members for their achievements.
