Tiftarea's Chloe Brand makes a running catch in the first inning versus Southwest Georgia Academy.

CHULA — Southwest Georgia Academy brought its powerful softball team to Tiftarea Academy Thursday and went back to Damascus with a shutout win.

SGA’s Aubrey Holloman got all nine of her outs by strikeout. The Lady Warriors scored twice in the first inning, then ramped up the offense for the remainder of the game. They improved to 9-0 on the year with the 21-0 victory.

Tiftarea battled throughout. They loaded the bases in the bottom of the third and showed patience at the dish by earning three walks.

Raelyn Owens singled off the first baseman’s glove in the first for the Lady Panthers’ initial hit. Coley Beth Croft filled the bases in the third with a line drive.

Tiftarea will host Stratford Academy Tuesday and FUllington Academy on Thursday Aug. 29.
