TIFTON — Addiction and trauma recovery awareness event RecoveryFest will be returning to Tifton this weekend.
Set to kick off September as National Recovery Month, the program invites the community to gather at Fulwood Park Sept. 7 to help break the stigma of addiction and show support for those on the road to recovery for addiction and trauma.
More than 15 organizations and sources of information for assistance in recovery will be taking part in the event, including Georgia Overdose Prevention and local recovery organization OASIS, who is assisting in managing RecoveryFest as a sponsor.
Additionally, people on various paths of recovery will take the stage to deliver testimonies on their personal journeys and provide advice on supporting those in recovery.
Food and entertainment for all ages will be provided, including kids activities and games, axe throwing from The Edge, and Sno Biz.
RecoveryFest will be from noon to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the events page on the First Baptist Church website.
