TIFTON — The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation recently honored Kristen Garrett, RN, BSN, with the 31st annual Jensen Patrick Nursing Excellence Award.

Garrett, who works on the Orthopedics unit at TRMC, has over six years of experience in the healthcare field. She is known for her positive attitude, compassion, and willingness to assist whenever needed, the hospital said in a press release.

“Kristen has consistently gone above and beyond to meet the needs of our patients,” said Matt Jones, nurse manager for Orthopedics. Her contributions include organizing a care package for a patient transitioning to a long-term facility and personally providing essential items for other patients. Garrett also plays an active role in supporting local nursing programs, serving on hospital nursing committees, and acting as a certified clinical preceptor.

The award, made possible by a generous contribution from Ray Jensen, seeks to recognize a nurse who exceeds the basic standards of care. The $1,500 cash prize is awarded annually to a nurse who has demonstrated exceptional commitment to improving healthcare, positively impacting patients, colleagues, and physicians, and showing extraordinary kindness toward patients.
