TIFTON — A man faces a murder charge after his arrest Sunday in a cruelty to children case, according to law enforcement records.

At 4:01 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Southwell Regional Medical Center in Tifton in reference to possible child abuse, a Tift County Sheriff’s Office incident report said.

The incident location is listed in the report as being in the 2800 block of Rainwater Road.

Demarcus Campbell, 18, of Tifton was charged with cruelty to a child-2nd degree (third or subsequent offense), the incident report said. Campbell, who was arrested Sunday, was also charged with murder, according to the Tift County Sheriff’s Office’s online inmate listing.
