TIFTON — Now operating out of a new location, Providence School of Tifton is eager to continue fostering the hearts and minds of tomorrow.
The classic Christian academy celebrated its relocation to Downtown Tifton Sept. 18 through a ribbon cutting courtesy of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce.
Having been started in 2020 at the Union Church in Eldorado, founding head Victoria Harris said she had to consider relocation when the church was beginning remodeling earlier this year as part of a planned expansion.
Luckily, she found the school’s current location not even a month later, and has been teaching the academy’s students how to lead and open their hearts to the community since.
Harris has expressed her appreciation for the new space and its location, remarking that she has already begun forming relationships and working on collaborations with many of the businesses in the area, and believes the proximity to this part of the city will provide opportunity for her students to make connections with their community as well.
Currently, the school operates only out of the first floor of the building, but Harris has begun plans to get the second floor class-ready, receiving approval for moving ahead with renovations on that floor the morning of the ribbon cutting.
As an additional celebration for the new location, as well as the progress of their students, the staff and student body plan to hold their first convocation of the year Sept. 25.
Providence School of Tifton is located at 508 Main St. S., and can be contacted at (229) 445-8180 for more information.
