TIFTON — Therapy service FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Center has set up a new location in Tifton.

The staff of the therapy center celebrated their new Tifton branch the morning of Sep. 24 via a ribbon cutting in front of their offices courtesy of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce.

Focusing on occupational, physical, and speech therapy, FYZICAL provides support in managing and overcoming issues in those fields to both children and adult patients from locations across the country.

Bridget Hathcock, licensed physical therapist and co-owner of the Tifton location and several similar locations across Georgia with her husband Stacey, explained that the new branch was to better accommodate the center’s patients from Tiftarea, who would regularly travel to FYZICAL’s Cordele location to retrieve treatment.

Hathcock also expressed that she wanted to continue providing rural communities with more access to therapy services, which had been a motivating factor in her starting her private practice in 1999 that would one day become FYZICAL of Cordele.

Following the ribbon cutting, Hathcock thanked those in attendance for coming out to the ceremony and invited them into the center for refreshments and the opportunity to tour the facility.

Currently, the staff of the new location are focused on providing top of the line therapy services to the Tiftarea community. Until the end of the week, they plan to advocate for the importance of therapy as part of National Rehab Week, and will continue to offer educational material on preventative measures for falling injuries as part of Fall Prevention Month.
