TIFTON — Elvis Presley tribute artist Matt Stone will be bringing the King back to Tifton this weekend.
Stone will be hosting his third concert in Tifton, themed after the King of Rock and Roll’s 1970 tour, at the Tift Theatre Saturday evening.
Intended to be a full recreation of that tour, Stone’s performance is set to feature all of the same equipment and bring the same spirit and sound as Elvis at that time.
“[1970] was a time when Elvis was at his peak of energy and excitement,” Stone said. “We’re hoping we can recapture it well and do a really good representation of when I think Elvis was at his best.”
Keeping with his aim of providing audiences with as authentic a portrayal of Elvis as possible, Stone hopes this upcoming concert will give residents of Tifton who are familiar with the musician’s work, as well as those experiencing it for the first time, a reminder of what it was like to see the King perform in person.
The tribute artist has also taken steps to ensure the concert is as financially accessible to the community as possible, with a variety of ticket options to fit whatever budget an interested patron may have.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online via Eventbrite, which can be accessed through the Tift Theatre’s Facebook page. For more information, visit the theatre’s Facebook or contact (229) 326-1982.
