Currie, Tift Middle boys win at Panther Prowl

- Phillip Oliver has Providence's best finish ever at the Panther Prowl.
CHULA — Tift Middle’s Katherine Currie was the overall race for middle school girls at the Panther Prowl Saturday and the Tift Middle boys won their division.
The Blue Devils scored 48 points on the morning, led by top-five finishes from William Maxwell and Kellan Lukas. Tiftarea Academy was second at 68 points.

Maxwell’s time was 14:01 to finish second. Lukas was fourth in 15:03. In between them was Pierce Fulp of Tiftarea in 14:39. Rylan Nelson’s seventh place made for another Devils in the top 10 and the the Panthers had one as well in Trenton Fulp.
Corey Moorman was 14th individually. Sawyer Bennett and Smith Hobby added to the TA total. Tift Middle’s other two counting runners were Hogan Gordon and Zachary Brown.
Finishing up the roster for Tiftarea were Finn Campbell, Uzziah Barton, Ethan Moorman, Sawyer Campbell, Noah Paulk, Jack Mooney, Eli Crosby, Wilkes Dawson, Ford Dark and Maddox Holt. Finishing for Tift were Davis Luke, Jordyn Neloms, Hyrum Baker, Jack Currie, Camden Walker, Noah Garren, Emmett Thompson, Alejandro Martinez, Christopher Conley , Julian Martinez and John Wood.
Providence School of Tifton got a 26th individual place from Phillip Oliver in 17:24. Hiram Brady ran as well.
Though Currie won in 16:13, the team standings saw Tiftarea’s Lady Panthers were third, one place ahead of Tift County.
Right behind Currie was Tiftarea’s Eleanor Walker, who placed third in 16:59.

Tiftarea moved ahead in the standings thanks to Jaycee Powell and Eleanor Dorman, 13th and 16th overall, respectively. Marlee Schwartz was 14th overall for Tift and Mariah Huxford was 17th.
Morgan Richards and Alexa Vasquez placed in the top 30 for the Lady Devils, as did Lucy Maxwell and Emri Golden for the Lady Panthers.
Tiftarea was additionally represented by Allie Barton, Sarah Roberts, Olivia Clark, Emmie McHugh and Mary Wynn Jones. Also on the course for Tift were Belinda Cardoso, Reagan Benefield, Maggie Nelson, Cedar Graham, Emma Damian and Leighton Myers. Joy Oliver ran for Providence.
