TIFTON — Tift County Schools have announced they will be closed Thursday and Friday as Hurricane Helene is expected to come through the area.

“After communicating with the National Weather Service and the local Emergency Management Agency,” said Tift Schools on social media, “we have determined that weather conditions predicted for our area are not suitable for the normal course of operation. As a result, all Tift County Schools will be closed Thursday, September 26th and Friday, September 27th.”
