Several Tifton roads remain blocked

TIFTON — One day after Hurricane Helene struck southern Georgia, several roads remain blocked in Tifton because of fallen trees and power lines.
These include 8th Street, 12th Street and 20th Street. Several stoplights remain out on US 41. Avoid these areas if possible.
Georgia Power estimates 4,000 customers do not have power in Tifton. Colquitt EMC has another 19,000 without power in its Tifton service area.
