Region 1-6A’s standings are complicated by makeup games. Colquitt is 10-2, Richmond Hill is 9-4 and Tift is 8-5. Lowndes, who is currently 5-4, has a staggering amount of region games to complete. A doubleheader with Camden County was washed out early in the season and, while their attempt to get ahead of Hurricane Helene last week was largely successful, there is still a game to go with Colquitt.
Lowndes and Valdosta were to play three games this week against each other, but no announcements have been made as to when these games can be completed. Lowndes won the first two from Colquitt last week to remain in the title picture.
Camden is 3-8 and Valdosta is 0-12. Richmond Hill and Camden have a doubleheader scheduled Thursday, which will complete Richmond Hill’s region slate.
Colquitt broke a 4-4 tie with one out in the seventh Tuesday with a walk-off single. That spoiled what had been a big Lady Devils comeback.
The Lady Packers had a 2-0 after two frames. Tift got one back in the fifth when C.B. McCrary scored off an error forced by Braylin Dorden. The hosts responded with one in the bottom half to be ahead 3-1.
Three runs plated for Tift County in the sixth as they took a 4-3 lead.

Ella Bruce drove in Morgan Brey with a sacrifice fly. That was followed by a two-run single by McCrary that brought in Marlee Veazey and Lyla Moore to make it 4-3.
Colquitt re-tied the game in the bottom of the sixth.
McCrary had two hits and two RBIs for the afternoon. Lily Robinson bumped her average to .472 with a hit. Robinson also struck out eight while allowing only two earned runs.
