Tiftarea-Valwood game postponed

CHULA — Tiftarea Academy’s football team will have another off week Friday. Their game against Valwood has been postponed.
Head coach Erik Soliday said Valwood informed him the Valiants would be unable to play. Valwood has been out of school all week because of damage from Hurricane Helene.

The game would have been the District 3-3A opener for both schools.
No makeup date has been set, but the GIAA has extended the regular season one week, and there is a chance that the two could meet in November.
Tiftarea will turn its attention to Deerfield-Windsor next week.
