TIFTON — Plough Gallery will be hosting the works of Austin-based quilting artist Malka Dubrowsky starting this weekend.

This new exhibit, titled “Square the Circle,” will bring together a collection of contemporary quilt designs crafted by Dubrowsky through traditional methods, providing guests of the gallery a unique take on textile art from the exhibit’s opening, Oct. 26, until the end of the year.

Dubrowsky is a prominent textile and fiber artist with multiple appearances in shows and publications such as Quilt National and Visions, experience designing fabric for companies like Moda and Robert Kaufman Fabrics, and a handful of quilting books under her belt. Her work emphasizes bright, vibrant colors and patterns and fabrics intended to preserve those shades for years to come.

Local residents are encouraged to stop by the gallery the night of the opening for a reception, in which they will have the opportunity to not only browse the works on display, but hear an artist talk from Dubrowsky and pick her brain about her process and inspirations.

Additionally, all guests eighteen and older will be entered into a raffle in which they have the chance to win pottery works crafted by Plough Gallery co-owner Mark Errol.

The opening reception will begin at 5 p.m. this Saturday evening, and is free and open to the public. All works in the exhibit will be made available for purchase. For more information, contact Plough Gallery at (229)396-4200.
