TIFTON — The County Board of Commissioners has purchased new equipment for their Public Works and Recreation departments.
County commissioners approved the purchase of a camera system and lawnmower to support the two departments during their Nov. 12 meeting.
The camera system, purchased at $36,802.38, will provide monitoring to the Public Works Department building, which lacked such a system prior to this, while the lawnmower will serve as a replacement for the Recreation Department’s previous piece of equipment that had suffered a blown engine and would be too costly to repair.
The replacement lawnmower will be purchased from Powerhouse Outdoor EQT for $11,578. Commissioners also agreed to surplus the original lawnmower during the meeting.
Funds for the camera system purchase is planned to be taken from SPLOST VI, while the lawnmower will be bought using insurance proceeds.
