TIFTON — The Tift County Schools Board of Education praised two of the county’s faculty members for being recently recognized at a state level during their Nov. 14 meeting.
Board members were proud to honor Chris Franks of Eighth Street Middle School and Stephanie Morrow, principal of Annie Belle Clark Elementary School, for earning recognition and praise for their work from a handful of state departments.
Dana Spurlin, Tift County Schools chief information officer, reported that Franks had been given the title of State School Nutrition Program Region 4 Employee of the Year from the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, while Morrow had received the Distinguished Service Award from both the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals and the Georgia Association of Middle School Principals.
Spurlin noted that Franks had been a faculty member of Eighth Street for several years, and had been additionally involved in the school’s nutrition and football programs. She praised both Franks and Morrow for their hard work and dedication.
