MACON — Tift County break out of an early deficit Saturday and fell to Jones County Saturday, 55-42, at the Hardwood Showcase at Central High in Macon.

The Lady Devils, playing without the injured Jimmya Cushion and Jalaya Miller, fell to 0-2. They had previous dropped a 46-42 game at Ware County Nov. 14.

Jaziyah Johnson was the only player in double figures for the Lady Devils, scoring 10. Johnson made three three-pointers. Mackenzie Holliday added nine points and Mariyah Batts and Ashanti Dixon each scored six.

Tift trailed 29-13 at halftime.

They won’t have a chance to avenge the record over Thanksgiving, but will finally have a home game Dec. 3 against Westover. The Blue Devils will make their regular season debut that night as well.
