TIFTON — Weekend basketball went well for the Tift County Blue Devils, who won their first two games of the season at Northside of Warner Robins and Coffee.

Stats were not available for those wins, which were 57-41 over Northside and 60-49 against Coffee.

“We played a little better!,” said head coach Tommy Blackshear. “We didn’t turn the ball over so much. We are solid on defense this early in the season, so our defense traveled with us.”

Blackshear said three Devils scored in double-figures.

The Lady Devils won Friday at Northside, 55-27, but dropped a 51-43 contest to Coffee.

Both Tift teams are at Westover Tuesday and will head to Americus Friday to take on Sumter County. Their next home games are Saturday against Fitzgerald.
