TIFTON — Two Lady Devils wrestlers won their area tournament Friday and six are guaranteed matches at this week’s sectional meet.

Sadie Davis (125 pounds) and Addison Braswell (130) came through for wins at Houston County in Area 1 Division 1 competition. Debraysia Doward (190) and Samantha Vicars (235) gave Tift County two second-place finishes.

Zanyia Knight earned third at 115 pounds and Skye Perry was fourth at 135. Coach Zac Martin said Jayci Kelly, who earned fifth at 120, is an alternate for sectionals.

“I could not be more proud of the girls,” Martin said. He said there were some heartbreaking losses at area.

Davis and Braswell are repeat area winners, having done so in 2024 and Braswell additionally won in 2023. Vicars won area titles in 2023 and 2024 and Knight won in 2024.

Tift was second as a team at the area meet, scoring 163 points. Richmond Hill was first at 179. There were 44 teams with representatives, with Northside of Warner Robins third at 135 and Long County fourth with 120.

Sectionals are back at Houston County Feb. 7. Qualifiers there will be at state Feb. 13-15 at the Macon Coliseum.
