Tifton police arrest four on drugs, firearms charges

TIFTON — The Tifton Police Department executed a search warrant at the Super 8 by Wyndham Tifton Hotel on Feb. 13, arresting four adults. Along with these arrests, police seized various illegal drugs, items used in the illegal distribution of narcotics and stolen firearms.
According to a press release, arrested were Emily Atwater, age 28; Malik Merritt, 28; Jaoquinn Demonte Cunningham, 40, and Reakeidron Singleton, 20.
The four were all charged with trafficking fentanyl, according to the Tifton Police Department release, as well as trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (felony), theft by receiving stolen property and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
In addition, Tifton Police said Cunningham and Merritt were also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Atwater was additionally charged with giving a false name to an officer.
