TIFTON — A murder suspect was convicted and sentenced to life in prison, according to an announcement Thursday from the Tift County District Attorney’s Office.
Antonio Pierce Sr. was convicted of gunning down Vincent Myers July 17, 2023, in the parking lot of the Sunoco gas station located at 3119 S. Central Ave.
Chief Superior Court Judge Bill Reinhardt passed the sentence immediately following the guilty verdict, according to a press release from District Attorney Patrick Warren.
“I want to sincerely thank the jury for their time, dedication, and commitment to seeking the truth,” Warren said. “Justice has been served for Vincent Myers and his family. While nothing can bring Vincent back, today’s verdict holds the defendant accountable and ensures that our community is safer.”
The case was prosecuted by Warren, with the assistance of Special Agent Caitlyn Prater of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, and deputies and investigators from the Tift County Sheriff’s Office. Also providing critical assistance in the prosecution were District Attorney’s Office Chief Investigator Melissa Luke and Victim Advocate Tricia Sumner.
