RICHMOND HILL — Cristian Salazar’s goal gave Tift County a 1-0 lead at halftime of Friday’s soccer game at Richmond Hill, but the Wildcats came back for three second-half goals for a 3-1 win.

“We played them close,” said head coach Bobby Earls in a message. “Changed our formation. And it almost worked.”

The Lady Devils dropped their road match 10-0.

The result was closer than their first meeting with Richmond Hill in February. The Wildcats won that contest, 7-0.

Tift will have their last Region 1-6A home matches Tuesday against Valdosta. It will be an excellent opportunity for both boys and girls to pick up region wins. This group of Wildcats are 1-7, having only won over non-region Dodge County. The Lady ‘Cats were 0-7 going into their Friday match with Camden, having scored only one goal this year.
