TIFTON — Hiring agency Quality Employment reported another year of success for their annual career fair, once again assisting job-seeking Tiftarea residents to secure a position among various businesses in the local and wider community.

Potential job seekers flocked to the Tift County Recreation Department gym March 18 to meet with nearly 40 employers across a variety of fields, including healthcare through companies like All Ways Caring and Southwell, law enforcement and governmental service under the Georgia State Patrol and Department of Juvenile Justice, and more industrial focused work through Farmers Bulk Supply, Trawick Broadband Construction, and Commanding Industrial.

Many employers taking part in the event were local businesses or had branches in the area, but Amanda Brack, business development consultant for Quality, reported that the fair had seen a business all the way from Kingsland in attendance.

Applicants were provided the opportunity to fill out resumes and interview with employers on site, with some even walking away from the event with a position lined up.

Following the career fair, Brack reported that the employment agency had estimated around 150 applicants had attended the event. She was satisfied with the fair’s proceedings, and expressed her optimism for continuing it next year.

Quality Employment plans to host another career fair in Moultrie Sept. 9, at Southern Regional Technical College. Brack has stated that the event already has nearly 30 employers eager to participate.
