Johnson keeps soaring at Harmon’s Invitational

ADEL — The sky may literally be the limit for Tift County’s Jamari Johnson. Weeks after setting the Tift County high jump record at 6-8, Johnson extended it again. At Harmon’s Invitational Saturday, Johnson cleared 6-9.
Lowndes hosted the event, which was held at Cook High because of construction at LHS.
Once again, Johnson was locked in a battle with Valdosta’s Jamir Bradley. Each of them made 6-9, but Johnson had fewer misses.
Jaxson Hughes and Anthony Pace were 2-3 in pole vault. Both got 12-6, as did Klen Flanigan of Lowndes, who won the event. Diamond Wallace was second in long jump at 17-6.
Tiftarea Academy’s Peyton Cleghorn, sole representative of her school Saturday, earned sixth in the 300 hurdles in 49.2 seconds.

Boys 110 hurdles: Jordan Gaskins (5th).
Boys 200: Marshall Howard (7th).
Boys 300 hurdles: Gaskins (3rd).
Boys 800: Anthony Falotico (6th).
Girls 800: Illianna Cleveland (5th).
Boys 1,600: Owen Davies (3rd).
Boys 3,200: Russ Benton (8th).
Girls 3,200: Lola Reynolds (4th).
Girls 4×200 relay: 4th.
Boys 4×400 relay: 5th.
Girls 4×400 relay: 8th.
Boys 4×800 relay: 5th.
