ASU’s Bailee Williams SWAC Co-Hitter of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Bailee Williams’ college softball career has just begun, but the former Tift County Lady Devil is already racking up awards.

Williams, a freshman at Alabama State, was recently named the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s (SWAC) Co-Hitter of the Week. A press release from the SWAC stated Williams earned the honor after hitting .667 for the week, with a home run, double, four RBIs and three runs scored.

Through her first eight games, Williams has hit two homers and has driven in 11 runs on 16 hits with an average of .327.

A multi-sport start at Tift County, Williams is one of the team’s all-time greatest hitters of the fastpitch era. Her senior year at TCHS additionally saw Williams win the Class 6A state shot put championship.
