TIFTON — LifeSouth Community Blood Centers celebrates the grand opening of their new donor center in Tifton with the Tifton Chamber of Commerce with an open house and ribbon cutting at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The community is invited to tour the new donor center and enjoy refreshments at the open house from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All blood donors donating on April 10 will receive a special gift and a chance to win raffle prizes.

The new donor center is located at 1904 US Highway 82 West in Tifton and operates five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

Donors of all types are always needed. In April, all blood donors receive a golf umbrella and wellness screen. First time blood donors with LifeSouth at the Tifton donor center receive a $50 e-gift card and umbrella. Platelet and double red cell donors receive at $40 e-gift card and umbrella. 

Donors are welcome to walk-in and give or visit lifesouth.org or call 1-800-795-2707 to schedule an appointment to donate. Donors must be at least 17 or 16 with parental permission, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. A photo ID is needed.
