TIFTON — Former Tift County Blue Devil Bre’nard Williams will get the chance to lead his own high school program: Williams was recently named head coach at Berkmar in Lilburn.

Williams has a tall task ahead of him. The Patriots were 2-8 last season, 1-6 in Region 7-6A. The wins came over Lakeside (Atlanta and Meadowcreek.

Berkmar last had a winning record in 2007, though they came close in 2019, posting a 4-6 mark.

Williams played at TCHS and collegiately at Clark Atlanta University, where he earned Division II All-American by the Don Hansen Football Committee in 2015.
