TIFTON — Downtown Tifton will be hosting their candy and egg collecting event the Easter Eggstravaganza this Thursday.

Serving as a sister event to their annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat, the Eggstravaganza will invite Tifton’s children and their families to hop down the streets of Downtown Tifton to receive goodies from the shops and businesses in the area.

Over twenty participating businesses will set up along the “hopping route,” beginning at 1st and Main Street and ending at the Tifton-Tift County Library on Love Avenue, to pass out candy and Easter eggs to the families taking part in the event. The section of 3rd St from Main Street to Commerce Way will also be included as part of the route.

Residents have been asked to expect road closures on 3rd St West for the previously specified section, as well as 1st St Extension, and first responders will take up position at each intersection to direct traffic and pedestrians.
