TIFTON — Downtown Tifton will be hosting its candy and egg collecting event the Easter Eggstravaganza this Thursday.

Serving as a sister event to the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat, the Eggstravaganza will invite Tifton’s children and their families to hop down the streets of Downtown Tifton to receive goodies from the shops and businesses in the area.

More than 20 participating businesses will set up along the “hopping route,” beginning at First and Main Street and ending at the Tifton-Tift County Library on Love Avenue, to pass out candy and Easter eggs to the families taking part in the event. The section of Third Street from Main Street to Commerce Way will also be included as part of the route.

Residents have been asked to expect road closures on Third Street West for the previously specified section, as well as First Street Extension, and first responders will take up position at each intersection to direct traffic and pedestrians.
