BOSTON — Mike Beeman’s Boston Marathon string is now at 48 after he completed the race Monday afternoon.

Beeman, a former educator and coach at Tift County High, Tiftarea Academy and ABAC, ran the course in 5:35. He kept a steady pace throughout, only slowing down where many runners do, around Heartbreak Hll.

The time was nine minutes faster than what Beeman ran at Boston in 2024.

Beeman is in fifth place for longest current active streak of completing Boston Marathons. All four persons ahead of him completed the race today. Mark Bauman of Michigan is No. 1 at 56 consecutive Boston Marathons.
