CHULA — Tiftarea Academy will look to even its Region 3-3A record Friday after falling at Terrell Academy Tuesday, 11-9.

The teams will rematch Friday at 6 p.m. in Chula, a night that will also be Youth Sports Night and Alumni Night. Both groups can watch the game for free.

Though the Panthers scored two runs apiece in the first and second innings Tuesday, Terrell jumped out to a 10-4 lead after the third. Tiftarea cut it to 10-9 in the top of the sixth, but the Eagles added an insurance run.

Reed Jackson hit his first ever varsity homer at Terrell and drove in two runs. William Garner had three RBIs and Winston Lamb picked up three hits.

One night earlier, the Panthers fell 8-1 to non-region Southland Academy in Chula. Seven runs in the second boosted the visiting Raiders.

Landon Clark drove in Jackson Gray.

Only two runs surrendered were earned. Hayden Matthews fanned three in 3 1/3 innings of work.
