TIFTON — Tift County now has an opponent, location and a date for their quarterfinals matchup in the Class 6A state tennis tournament.

The Blue Devils will host West Forsyth Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Tift County High tennis courts.

Tift, in its first Elite Eight since 2008, earned the home court advantage as they won their region and West Forsyth finished second.

The Wolverines defeated Grovetown in the second round 3-0 to advance. West Forsyth has yet to drop any matches at state. In the first round, they defeated Snellville’s Brookwood 3-0.

Heading into state, the Georgia High School Association ranked West Forsyth as one of the state’s best teams.

Should they win, the Blue Devils would face either Walton or Alpharetta in the final four.
