TIFTON — The Tift County board of commissioners have agreed to sell one of their fire trucks to Cook County.

County commissioners decided in a unanimous vote to allow the government of Cook County to purchase a 2014 Ford F550 mini pumper at their Dec. 11 meeting.

The fire truck had previously been surplussed by the county Aug. 14, but the board had not determined how to properly dispose of it.

Jim Carter, county manager, reported during the meeting that the board of commissioners of Cook County had agreed to purchase the truck from them for $150,000, which Tift County’s commissioners were happy to agree to.
